Strategic Plan

Through the strategic planning process, we define what makes Vidya Jain Public Schools unique, and push ourselves to articulate who we aspire to be.

As a community we established what student outcomes we expect as a result of graduating from VJPS and we will define our excellence beyond traditional measures. We need to ensure that our school is equipping all students with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to pursue their highest aspirations.

Strategic planning gives us an opportunity to pause and consider our schools and systems holistically, rather than by single disciplines as we do in curricular reviews. Through our process, we will continue to build on our existing foundations of excellence, while creating opportunities for students to drive their learning and create possibility. Our strategic plan is unique to Vidya Jain Public Schools because it is developed by our community and owned by all of us.

The strategic planning process involved two equally important phases and teams (Planning Team and Action Teams) that included students, staff, parents, and other members of the community. Each of them participated in planning and Several themes emerged from our Strategic Planning process: exceptional teaching and learning opportunities, discovery and pursuit of passions, personal growth and excellence, voice and choice in learning (agency), and being an inclusive learning community.

When done well, a strategic plan can serve as a touchstone for an institution’s present and a pathway to the future. It should not merely be a document that gets stored away somewhere, never to be seen again.

In order to have meaning, the strategic planning process must be carefully thought out, inclusive, and inspiring. VJPS sees our strategic plan as an invitation to a dynamic campus-wide conversation about the institution’s mission, vision, and values and how they should shape our future priorities and the strategies we use to pursue them.
