Regularity and Punctuality

"I owe all my success in life to having been always a quarter of an hour before any time"- Lord Nelson.

Children arriving late in school miss out on the opportunity to start their day in a relaxed and comfortable manner. This also brings about a disconnection in the child's understanding of what has been done and what is being done. To build a strong culture of discipline in the lives of our children, it is important we realize the value of their learning time and adhere to the school timings.We would like to emphasize on the need for keeping a check on children absenting themselves too often, irregularity and frequent absenteeism leads to disconnection in children's learning. There is a need to sensitize children toward the issue so as to bring about order and discipline in their routine. It is important note that:

  • A child should have 90% attendance to make him/her eligible for promotion to the next class.
  • Any student who has been absent, without a prior notice, would need to produce a letter from the parents addressed to the class teachers, stating the reason for absence. This would not only enable the teacher to be sensitive towards the need of the child if there has been a cause of concern, but also eliminate any scope of mis-communication or the lack of it.
  • Leave for going out-of-station should be approved prior to proceeding on leave. In case of emergency, parents are requested to inform by telephone or meet the principal and not to go to classes directly.
  • Repeated absence without leave application, unexplained absence for more than five consecutive days renders the students admission cancelled.

  • The possessions or use of illicit drugs;
  • The possession or use of alcohol, tobacco or unauthorized prescription drugs;
  • The possession or use of a weapon or instrument that may inflict harm;
  • Bullying, fighting, vulgarity or verbal intimidation;
  • Vandalism or theft;
  • Offensive language or possession of offensive literature/images in any form;
  • Disruption of lesson/activity by inappropriate behavoiur;
  • Display of affection which is not acceptable to the society at large;
  • Use of cell phones, i-pods, electronic-gadgets, laser pointers in the school premises. Any student found carrying them will be fined Rs. 1,500/- and the same will be confiscated. Every student is entrusted with the responsibility of informing school authority when she/he see others violating this policy;
  • Harassment or intimidation over social networking sites.

Violation Of Any Rule May Result In Disciplinary Action Including

  • Compensatory payment of charges;
  • Assigned work related to the offense;
  • Loss of credit for complete/assigned work or tests;
  • Detention/in-school suspension/out of school suspension;
